Headphones Review: Marshall Major II

Popular now in the Philippines for its heavy advertising, the Marshall Major II is a pair of headphones I couldn’t help but pick up. For around PHP 4,500 it’s not exactly cheap, but I’d say it is worth the money. It has well-tuned mids and it’s not too excessive on the low or high end. It has quite a strong clamping force however, so the headphones are not too comfortable over a long period of time. The materials are premium and it three color options; black, white, and brown. I personally prefer the brown ones because they have an old-school look to them.

The headband is very comfy made of leather or suede for other models. Although some say the plastic looks cheap, it’s very durable and is better than it seems in real life. So, in the end, great headphones for the price, excellent sound and comfort. Would I suggest it? If you have the cash, and like the design, yes. These are a year old already though, so there are probably better deals out there. For this price I could also suggest the ATH-M40x which has excellent build and design, Sennheiser HD 518 for it has sound that even audiophiles will like, JBL Synchro E40BT because it’s JBL. Don’t limit yourselves to these as there are many more to choose from. Happy shopping!
