It’s not very difficult to get so bored to the point that you are forced to actually prowl the net in search of “weird” websites. I’ve done it once, and I’ll tell you right here, right now, I had one hell of a good time I won’t regret. But, if you’re too lazy to hunt down the fun websites of the net, then you need not fret. Today, I’ll compile my 4 favorite websites that have a certain sense of humor, usefulness, weirdness, or basic amazing… ness

.

  1. Google Space http://mrdoob.com/projects/chromeexperiments/google-space/
Yet another masterpiece of the outstanding Mr. Doob. Google Space lets you see Google in a whole new perspective. All tabs will be floating, and you’ll have a pretty hard time pressing on any of them. You can also drag them around, bumping into other fellow tabs, making them fly like mental bumper cars. This website is definitely a must see for physics lovers and fun seekers.

2.       OMFGDOGS omfgdogs.com
There’s nothing much about this website, but if you like staring at stuff, and like dogs, this is definitely a must visit for you. Also, I found that this can definitely turn your frown upside down if you’re having a bad day. Basically, OMFGDOGS is a website where you can stare at dogs running endlessly into the abyss, with a rainbow background with the word “dogs” moving in an interesting motion. If you like this site, then you may also like corgiorgy.com
NOTE THAT I ALSO FOUND THIS SITE DISORIENTING AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF STARING.

3.       ZOOMQUILT zoomquilt.org
Zoomquilt is quality art, creativity, and “weirdness” in website form. To sum it up, in Zoomquilt, you see a painting. With a twist. Yes, it’s just one painting, but it somehow is able to make it look like a hundred paintings, all compressed into one quilt. It zooms in endlessly, dimension to dimension, environment to environment. And it just makes you get the chills, and wonder how such a beauty is done.

4.       haneke.net haneke.net

Haneke, like Zoomquilt, is also a very creative website. It also shares a certain trait with OMFGDOGS: it gives you that indescribable feeling of happiness, simply by just staring at your computer screen. In haneke, you are able to observe a working factory, transporting hundreds of blue balls at once. It’s an amazing process to sightsee, and the fact that all of this just works, makes you feel proud of humanity for actually posting something on the internet that was clearly worked hard on and not just po- nothing.
