Hiraya: A Review of the 21st AHS Fair

Last January 27-28, the first joint AJHS and ASHS fair commenced. It was called "Hiraya", which figuratively means "reach your dreams". With such a title like this, it is just proper do determine whether it did reaach our dreams. This is a review of the Hiraya, the 21st AHS Fair.

 Carnival Rides

The rides were good enough. The "octopus" broke down, so not a lot were able to ride it. "Anchors Away" was pretty good, it was quite thrilling and the best. The "haunted house" and "inflatable" were meh. This aspect of the fair was, sadly, not the best. A suggestion for next year is to make sure all the rides are in functioning order.

Food Concessionaires

The FairComm executed this part of the fair excellently. There were a lot of good food stalls with mostly reasonable prices, with some going a little over the budget of most students.

Student Booths

Each cluster of the AJHS had its own booth. I was luckily part of the "Dress-Up Booth" where I got to dress up people who were not willing to pay the bail and catch unlucky guests. There were also "Truth-or-Dare","Marriage" and "Kiss-Stamp" booths, each with their own catchers. These were helpful in giving students a role in making the fair a thrilling one.

Special Events

Most people say the events were the highlight of the fair. Personally, I didn't attend these night events. But, I heard great things about the "Vivir" talent show and the "Fuerza" pageant. So, I would say that yes, the FairComm did a great job.

Other Booths

The other booths consisted of a DJ and some stalls selling goods. These booths weren't a lot but there were a lot of attracted students.
