The Current State of the WWE

taken from: wrestling news.com

2016 was not necessarily a great year for the WWE. It had the hot potato with the Raw Women’s Championship. The slow death (1 minute and 26 seconds to be exact) of the dominant state of Brock Lesnar at the hands of Bill Goldberg. And Raw’s first loss in the rating to, in my opinion the better show, SmackDown Live. So, I will give you a look into what the current state of the WWE.

1.     The Royal Rumble is one of the only things keeping the hype up for the WWE.

Here comes the start of the “Road to WrestleMania”. As Stephanie McMahon told Bill Goldberg after the 30th anniversary of Survivor Series, “The Road to the Championship is Through the Royal Rumble.” This is what turns the head of most WWE fans since Bill Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, The New U.S Champion Chris Jericho(drink it in maaaaaaan), Seth Rollins and the Undertaker are the current entries into the Royal Rumble match.

2.   AJ Styles may be having his “long awaited burial” at the hand of John Cena at the Royal Rumble.
If you haven’t been watching the recent episodes of SmackDown Live, John Cena has challenged AJ Styles (for like the 1,000,000th time) for his WWE World Championship. Cena may have good chance of winning the title mainly because many fans are speculating that he will face The Undertaker at WrestleMania. One way to make that better is to have them face off for the WWE World Championship.

3.   The feud between Dean Ambrose and The Miz is making SmackDown Live more relevant.

If you haven’t been watching the recent episodes of SD Live, The Miz and Dean Ambrose have been having a very bitter feud. It all started when Renee Young slapped The Miz in their interview after Miz blatantly called Ambrose out for having a relationship with Renee Young. It is interesting where this bitter saga between Miz and Ambrose will go. Since Miz has lost his prized Intercontinental (Jesus that’s a long name) Championship, this gives Ambrose the upper hand going into the next chapter in this interesting feud.

4.   Seth Rollins is making a suicidal move asking to face Braun Strowman, TWICE!

Well, at least this isn’t as worse as Sami Zayn’s matches with Strowman. As dubbed by Raw’s commentators, Strowman is a monster among men. As I previously said in my thoughts and insights on Survivor Series, Strowman can take on 20 men if he wants. And still win. Seth Rollins being the man he is, will not back down from any of Strowman’s challenges. This may lead to Rollins ending up like Sami Zayn. WHICH IS ON A STRECHER.

So, I have given you a peek into what the landscape of the WWE may be for the next few weeks. Thank You for taking the time to read this long but relevant article.
